Activities

There are different activities during the year that GLoBALLers can get involved in, including:

Cricket
You’ll have the chance to attend one of the Melbourne Stars or Melbourne Renegades Big Bash games at either the MCG or Etihad during the summer, as well as have the chance to watch the teams train. If you would like to learn more about the game of cricket, please click here

Football
AFL is uniquely Australian, and by becoming a GLoBALL member you’ll be able to get the chance to go to a live Aussie Rules Footy match! To learn more about AFL please click here

Netball
GLoBALLers will also get the chance to see the exciting Melbourne Vixens play Netball at their home stadium in Melbourne.

The Long Walk
GLoBALLers are invited to participate in The Long Walk Event before the Dreamtime Game at the MCG.This special event starts with cultural activities at Federation Square followed by a symbolic walk to MCG. This event happens only once a year and is a significant celebration for all Australians click here

Banner Making with the Essendon Cheer Squad
GLoBALL groups are invited to assist the Essendon Cheer Squad in making the banner. A key focus of this activity is enabling GLoBALLers from other cultures and Cheer Squad members to learn more about each other in an informal and enjoyable setting is an important part of the game. More info

AFL 9s
AFL 9s is the AFL’s alternative version of the game of Australian Rules Football. It has been developed so that all people regardless of age, gender, culture, ability levels can play matches that parellel the traditional game. More info

National Sports Museum 
The National Sports Museum celebrates the place of sport in Australian life, promotes national identity and pride and celebrates the contribution that sport has made within the development of our uniquely Australian. More info
